We have found over the years that there are several products and a cleaning routine we swear by to keep our cattery sparkling clean, smelling good and keeping our Oriental shorthair kittens, moms & dads in top notch health.

Every morning when we greet everyone, we examine each kitten as part of our daily ritual. We then begin removing any bedding boxes and each litter box. My Pet Peed is sprayed on such places. It is a fantastic deodorizer and cleaning. We clean and/or replace any sleeping boxes while the litter boxes soak. Every box has a brand-new towel or blanket. If the Oriental shorthair kittens are old enough and have visited one of our Meowternity houses, we allow them to play and run around. The kittens that can run about are kept apart from the small infants and mothers.

Every surface where young litters are kept will be cleaned using Clorox wipes. After that, we use our reliable Eureka vacuum to clean every nook and cranny, even cat trees. The amount of chaos that may occur from day to day is unbelievable. We use a bleach and water solution to mop the floor after it has been vacuumed. My Pet Peed is sprayed on the cat trees. My Pet Peed, bleach, and water will be used to clean every wall.

Water dishes are brought out and rinsed and allowed to sit in the sun. Before we begin replenishing the litter boxes, they are also cleaned and exposed to some sunlight. The water bowls return and are replenished after they have been thoroughly cleaned.

In addition to conventional litter pans, we have two Litter Robots. Although we adore the Litter Robots, little shallow boxes work best for young cats who are still learning. After that, they go to a regular pan before using the Litter Robot. We would say that the Litter Robots do a fantastic job of preventing both litter waste from conventional scooping and cats from treading in unclean litter.

In addition to cleaning every surface, our Air Oasis Commercial Air Scrubber/Purifiers 3000XG3 is another tool we found last year and could not live without. We already have two and will likely add a third. We bought the purifier because it combats bacteria, viruses, and mold on surfaces and in the air.

All of the kittens return to their dwelling places after everything has been cleaned and new bedding has been placed in their boxes.

Every night before going to bed, we check everyone again, kiss noses, feed, and pick up the litter boxes one last time.

Including breaks for playing with infants, the daily schedule takes roughly four hours.

Our everyday companions are the resident cats. They help us with housework, sleep in our beds, and are used to kids. This guarantees that the kittens and adults are well-socialized; they engage with people of all ages and are accustomed to home noises.
Due to the tiny size of our cattery, there are not many litters produced per year. This enables us to give each cat the best care possible, guaranteeing its healthy upbringing. Our cats do not live in cages; instead, they have access to nearly the whole house and a large aviary on the terrace, where they spend warm days with us. This is crucial because you may still come across catteries that engage in "cage breeding," which has a detrimental effect on the health and temperament of the animals.
